I’m Mollie E. Reeder, author & filmmaker. Hello!
In 2016, I co-wrote, produced and edited Aria Appleton Shines like the Sun, a musical family comedy featuring kids, dogs, singing, animation, pyrotechnics, and everything else they told us not to do in a microbudget movie. Aria Appleton will screen in November 2016 at the Lone Star Film Festival and is currently seeking further distribution.
As a home-schooled only child growing up in the suburbs of Texas, I spent my formative years playing outside, riding horses and reading books. I devoured endless 1990’s Hardy Boys paperbacks, hours of Hawaii 5-0 and Bonanza reruns, and dozens of ill-fated trips down the Windows 98 edition of the Oregon Trail.
I wrote my first book when I was four, Why Are you So Grumpy? (spoiler alert: tragic ending) and I haven’t stopped since.
I like to tell cinematic stories of adventure and redemption, inspired by everything I loved as a kid: science fiction, military culture, theology, American history, and the powerful forces of nature.
Currently, I’m writing a new series of novels – the first book, Raptor Uprising, is planned for release in the near future. Elevator pitch? Velociraptors and resistance fighters!
If that kind of thing rings your bell, subscribe to my email club. You’ll get updates about the Raptor series, breaking news about Aria Appleton, and other cool stuff, including deep, dark personal secrets *.
